The Nephilim and Nephilia

The "Sons of God" spoken of in the Hebrew scriptures are very definitely angels who were persuaded that human women were desirable. The offspring of these unions were indeed the Nephilim, half human, half demonic spirit creatures. No wonder the earth was filled with violence.

What fascinates me at the moment is that the constellation of Orion was called Nephilia by some ancient peoples. I am curious as to what the connection between Nephilia and Nephilim is? It would seem obvious, but it does not add up completely.

Nephilim after flood, how did they get there?
by: LisA

Would love to hear more opinion on the matter of how there were Nephilim after the flood. Not entirely sure about the comment that was made about God destroying all "man-kind" and so this did not include the Nephilim. I have a Hebrew Greek Bible and mine reads, vs.13 of Genesis chapter 6, "The end of all flesh has come before Me; for the earth is filled with violence because of them; and behold, I am about to destroy them with the earth." Thank you to whomever wrote this opinion because it definitely gives "food for thought"

Nephilim Cohabitation with Women
by: heidi cuda

In depth Bible study shows that there was a time when the fallen angels could fashion human bodies for themselves. Angels are beings who possess amazing powers. After the flood the power to manifest in fleshly form was taken from them.

This only applies to the angels who became demons as a result of 'forsaking their proper dwelling place'. God's obedient angels are able to materialize now if they so choose; the ability to do so was never taken from them. It seems however, that if they do so now they do not draw attention to it.

In any case, were I to meet a person who claims to be angelic, I would at the very least touch that person to make sure it is of flesh and blood. More likely though I would turn and run for the hills !!

Nephelim
by: Robert Marshall

In Hebrews chapter 1 God says He never called any angel His son. God set the limits on His creation. An apple can only be an apple after it's seed. Angels were messengers of God. They are spirit. God did not give angels the ability to procreate. So it is impossible for an angel to sire children with the flesh. Even if demons could inhabit the body, they have no seed of procreation.

Seed after it's own seed was to prolong life, whether in the flesh or for food. God knew man would sin against Him, so He made a way for man to be responsible for Himself. God could no longer create man in his image, and in perfection in a sinful world.

We like to be right in what we say but most of the time we don't have enough information. I guess we will all have to stand before God at the last day to know the whole truth. We must pray to God to make things clear to us. It keeps out all the guesswork.
