Cain's Offering Less Than What God Commanded

God always asks for one-tenth of our labors. Maybe Cain not only did not offer one-tenth, but did not offer the best of his fruits. Abel offered both! That is why God was so pleased with Abel, and so hurt by Cain.
I can see no other explanation for God's reaction to Cain.
