The Sons of Noah - Shem, Ham, and Japheth

by Louis Egbe
(London)

It was Canaan who was cursed and not Ham and all of his Sons. It is important that we do not add onto God's Words.

Why Canaan was cursed is unclear. However, Canaan to our surprise is a direct ancestor of the the Christ; because Judah had a child, Phares -- a direct descendant of the Christ --with Thamar, the Canaanite woman.

There was also Bath-Sheba, the Hittite -- from Heth, Canaan's second son -- the mother of Solomon; and then we know of Rahab, a possible Canaanite woman, also a direct descendant of David and the Christ.

It should also be noted that it seems Ham's sons and immediate descendants were the most powerful of all Noah's sons in the beginning, in terms of ingenuity and being daring. Genesis Chapter 10 seems to indicate this fact in the table of nations; and subsequent history of the ancient times appears to point to this aspect. All this was God's plan for the future saving of man from the fall.

God Bless you all.
