Gen 9:18 is when Ham is first mentioned as the father of Canaan, not when Noah is drunk. Also, the Bible does not state that all of Ham's children are cursed, just Canaan. I think it may be this way, because Ham is Noah's youngest,so he curses Ham's youngest!

The scripture specifically states that he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he(not they) be unto his(not their) brethren. We should not add to or take away...Ham's other sons were not cursed by Noah according to the Word of God!

Did Noah Really curse all Hamatic People!
by: Anonymous

Friend, May I submit respectfully, Genesis 9:1; So God blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them: " Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth."

How could Noah, curse what God has blessed. Since the Law of Moses had not yet been given. I don't see in scripture were Cush, Mizraim and Put at that time were cursed by God or Noah. " Let scripture interpret scripture"

Ham
by: Robert Marshall

The reason Ham was cursed was that he disrespected His Father. In deut. 27 - 16 God's law stated the reason for the curse. In joshua 9 -23 God shows what that curse entails. In other words, God let it be known that Ham and his line would never prosper. When Moses and the Israelites went into the promise land they took over the land, because God gave it to them as an inheritance. The land was doled out to the twelve tribes.

This is what God meant by the curse. Ham's descendants became slaves to the twelve tribes. Noah cursed Ham before the Law was written. There are many things God did before he wrote it down. Remember that God knows the beginning from the end. God wrote the Bible in such a way, that whoever reads it would would have to search and meditate on it.
