Naked, or Ham Saw Noah Worshiping a False God?

by James
(Addison, TX)

Like I say I'm not a scholar or well read in all the Holy Bible by any means, but I've read and read and read the beginning many times. I really don't think the way the story is told by the establishment, or understood, is correct.

Was Noah really naked, as in birthday suit naked, or naked in the sense that Ham saw Noah for who he was worshiping?

Noah was pure in his generations. Does that mean he was pure in worship?

Elijah fought the fallen gods, so after the flood knowledge of them came from someone.

Were the commandments in effect at the time of Noah, or not until Moses?

I know the Book of Enoch is apocryphal, but the knowledge was there and remembered by someone after the flood. Why not Noah?

Lucifer's Influence Upon the New Earth and Noah & Sons
by: Avalon

Noach did not worship false gods. There is no allusion to any such thing in scripture. The Bible says, "But Noach found grace in the sight of Adonai"...."In his generation, Noach was a man righteous and wholehearted; Noach walked with God. Noach fathered three sons, Shem, Ham, and Yefet."

The order in which these words were written implies that Noach walked with God before AND after the birth of his sons. It also says that after he left the ark, "Noach built an altar to Adonai." A few verses later it says, "God blessed Noach and his sons...."

Why would anyone even stoop to think that Noach worshiped idols? The scripture says the very opposite! Later on it says, "Noach, a farmer, was the first to plant a vineyard. He drank so much wine that he got drunk and lay uncovered in his tent. Ham, the father of Kena'an, saw his father shamefully exposed, went out, and told his two brothers."

It says of Shem and Yefet, "Their faces were turned away so they did not see their father lying there shamefully exposed."

There could be 100 different reasons why Noach ended up drunk, and we must not speculate on these. Also, there is no mention of sodomy by Ham or any other such wickedness perpetrated on Noach. As for the practice of such evil things as idolatry, sodomy, etc., this knowledge was carried forward into the new world by the emissaries of Lucifer.

These demons schooled Noach's later descendants in the evil their forefathers had practiced before the flood and to which some of them decided to return. Demonic spirits do not know the future (only what is written in the Bible), but they do know the details of everything that has happened since they were created. They know the details of each person's life and what they have done, both good and evil.

They know many of the inner secrets of the universe and the workings of advanced physics, the likes of which our modern society has only just begun to dream.

Noah, Ham and Canaan - What Happened?
by: James

Maybe Ham saw Noah but Canaan was the one who was the direct culprit of whatever alleged insult took place.

I don't understand how people can claim sodomy when nothing states such, and 'naked' in English has such broad interpretation.

I'm curious since that point in Genesis seems to me to be a major point that decided our collective futures, and it's told as; "Hey I got in a wreck, and your car caught on fire, lets go to lunch."

Noah and Ham
by: Anonymous

I think the points raised are of value, but we really need to be careful about hypothesizing about what went on. The Bible doesn't tell us and there's probably a good reason that God didn't want the story in the account!

What is interesting is that although it was Ham who saw his father Noah asleep naked, it was Canaan, his eldest son who was cursed! What is clear is that whatever was going on, Canaan was somehow involved and bore the consequences!

As for the book of Enoch and it's origins, the reason that it's not accepted into the canon of scripture is because it can't be traced back any further than the 2nd century BC. For a book to be included in the canon, one of the tests is that it has to have a good argument for it being written by whom it is claimed to be written by! Even the book of Maccabees can be authenticated this way, but the Book of Enoch claims to be written at least a thousand years before Abram walked the earth! Some of the stories may go back a long way, and even back to Enoch, but there is no evidence whatsoever for the Book's claim of Enoch as the author.

Walked with God
by: James

Walked with God. What does that mean?

Like I say, I'm not a scholar, so in the Hebrew is it YHWH God in the passage and the translation left that out and didn't change it to Lord? Because in my KJV it's not Lord God.

Also, if it's YHWH God, it seems apparent the fallen gods were roaming freely on the earth at the time. That is why I also ask if the 10 commandments were in effect during Earth 1.0, as I call it.

Really Noah could have been pure in his generations. Worshiped fallen gods. Then YHWH God chose Noah because after the fall Lucifer, Satan, was/is prince of the Earth. So Noah walked with YHWH God and received YHWH God's plan.

Noah was a Righteous Man
by: CK Quarterman

By CK Quarterman - These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.(Gen 6:9)

Noah is said to be a just man and one who walked with God. Yes, it is also true his DNA was perfect.

But in regards to this post of Noah worshiping a false god, I think it totally untrue. It isn't supported by scriptural exegesis. It is more likely that Ham sodomized Noah while he was drunk. Because, when Noah awakes he knows something has happened. This would also support the strong curse against Ham. Ham must have known this act from the fallen world he had seen before the flood.

Again, Noah was a Righteous man. Ham wasn't.
