Hagar

by George Salazar
(Brooklyn, New York)

It would seem quite easy and simple to think about Israelites at the time of Abraham as Egyptians. They did exactly some of the things done in Egypt (According to the History books). They owned slaves and they treated them, as any on the face of the earth, "Without Justice".

As far as Ishmael and his mother Hagar are concerned, I truly feel very sorry for both of them. This passage found in the book of "Genesis" makes me think really hard about my relationship with "Elohim my Almigthy and Everlasting God" (the name of the God "Jesus" spoke about) that the scriptures have been manipulated to suit those writing it.

And further more, as a believer and follower of "Jesus Christ The Messiah" son of "Elohim", "Prince Of Peace", The One the prophet "Isaiah" spoke about in chapter 53; Centuries before JESUS was born, love Elohim above anything else and, Love Your Neighbors As You Love Yourself.

May Elohim bless us all, for we are all in this together, whether we like it or not

Abraham and Hagar
by: Ernie W

1. We are clearly told; "These things were written for our learning"; so let us learn.
IS GOD COMPASSIONATE.
Yes.
WAS SARAH.
She is recorded as being harsh, & do not forget, Hagar lost respect for her, BEFORE Sarah treated her harshly.

What is recorded is for us to learn from. That is: The blessing would come through the Promise, by faith (in the one reading of these events)& not naturally by the design of men & women.
So we are only told of one event in Sarah & Hagars life - there may have been 100 events of love, but they do not teach the lesson that God wants us to learn.

In the SAME vein;
Adam & Eve are presented in the Bible as the first sinners.
I believe they were forgiven & will be in the Hope that we have all been promised. But we are only told of the bad, & they have gone down as a lesson for the results of sin.

Jesus only is the lesson for forgiveness. (PS: Adam called her Eve, "Living". Why would he do that if he was only promised death??? He must have been forgiven & offered LIFE through her son - Jesus, the true seed of the woman.)

Ishmael
by: Anonymous

It is not a strange thing to accept that Ishmael is Abraham's first born, but all the promises are through his son Isaac. We live as per the promises of God, Who is Faithful and Just to fulfill His own sayings.

I am glad and sure what He promised He will do.
Yes, you may think of Ishmael who is also Abraham's son.Let not we judge or waste our time in what God is going to do.

There is no Name given under the sun where a person can be saved, except by believing in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

God bless you

Hagar
by: Enaid

Reading that reply was very weird. No compassion. The first persons comment expressed compassion to Hagar and Ishmael, and I get that. Why? Because Hagar was a servant/slave and was under obligation to do the bidding of her mistress(Sarai/Sarah).

Hagar was told to sleep with Sarah's husband for the purpose of giving Sarah a son for Abraham. Sarah showed no faith in God to fulfill his promise of a son for her and Abraham. She took things into her own hands and she USED Hagar to force the outcome to happen in HER timing...Not God's timing.

Often we don't wait on God. At times people USE things, people... to manipulate outcomes to meet their needs. Yes, there should be compassion for Hagar or anyone used to meet someone elses means.

Hagar was used. Sarah was selfish and lacked faith in God to do as he promised. It was Sarah's SIN. Not Hagar's Sin. Sarah showed disobedience in refusal to wait on God...This selfish action changed God's plan for our History.

Two brothers..One God's devine plan..One brother, unfortunately a result of lack of faith and selfish disobedience and cruel manipulation of innocent people. Isaac, the father of the Israelites and a righteous servant of God, and Ishmael, the father of Arabs. Each a son of Abraham.

God continues to work through us. Even when we throw a wrench into the divine plan. God is mighty and He himself showed compassion for Hagar and Ishmael. How could you not show compassion? May God teach us to wait on Him and to show compassion to all.

Hagar, Ishmael and Abraham
by: Stanley7

The Egyptians truly with all their wrong dumb minds owned all Hebrew Slaves and they treated all Hebrew Slaves badly for 430 years, as any all Hebrew Slaves on the face of the Earth "Without Justice" for also same 430 years, too. Always yes and true!

Do not feel sorry for Hagar and Ishmael, because reasonably Lord God fed and comforted Hagar and Ishmael well in Egypt at that time. Always yes and true!

As for we, all the peoples are all in this together under one Jewish Living Lord God, Lord Jesus Christ by Himself on all His Sevenths/ Sabbaths/ Saturdays only at all, Not on Fridays and Not on Sundays. Always yes and true!

Please remember that you all and all the peoples love your all and their all neighbors, as same as all neighbors love you all and all the peoples on Earth as always ever best all the times all more years to come so forth ahead in all Jesus's nice futures for you all and all the peoples on Earth. Always yes and true!
